Getting Started

 

Onward offers two 60-minute meetings - one in 9th and one in 10th grades - to help students understand what schools are seeking in academics, extracurriculars, and character. These meetings will provide a general timeline for the college admissions process and offer guidance with course selection, activities, and summer programs.

Personalized Comprehensive Package

 

Onward’s Comprehensive Package can start at any time and includes up to 40 hours of the following services:

  • Self-understanding assessments, which can include personality, interests, college major, potential career assessments

  • Review of student academic records and guidance on selecting high school classes

  • Extracurricular and summer activities brainstorming and guidance

  • Standardized testing plan and prep strategy

  • College list building and refinement over time

  • Demonstrated interest strategy and guidance

  • College visit planning and guidance for touring and meeting with admission reps

  • College interview preparation and practice

  • Application assistance and review (*up to 12 applications)

  • Personal statement, supplemental essays, and college video guidance, including brainstorming and topic development and review of drafts

  • Financial aid general strategy and advice

  • Timelines and due dates to guide the process

  • Review of admissions offers and college selection guidance

 

Senior Sprint

This package is designed for rising seniors who may be getting a late start or need guidance during the home stretch as they refine their college list, demonstrate interest, and complete essays and applications. It includes 25 hours of the following services:

  • Review of student academic records and guidance on selecting senior year classes

  • Extracurricular brainstorming and guidance for senior year

  • College list building and refinement

  • Demonstrated interest strategy and guidance

  • College visit planning and guidance for touring and meeting with admission reps

  • College interview preparation and practice

  • Application assistance and review (*up to 10 applications)

  • Personal statement, supplemental essays, and college video guidance, including brainstorming and topic development and review of drafts

  • Financial aid general strategy and advice

  • Timelines and due dates to guide the process

  • Review of admissions offers and college selection guidance

By the Hour 


Onward also offers hourly advising with a minimum of three hours to be used where needed. Purchases of 10 hours or more include access to the College Companion platform, a central hub where students can manage their academic plans, college lists, and each step of the application process.
